Sunrise or Sunset Camel Ride - Overview

Padding peacefully through the sands on a soft-footed camel is the perfect way to explore the desert landscapes around Uluru and see magnificent views of the Rock.

You can ride at sunrise or sunset, accompanied by an expert guide who will tell you about the area and point out the amazing wildlife of this harsh and beautiful land.

Choose the sunrise ride and see majestic Uluru ignited by the first rays of the sun. Tuck into an outback breakfast of billy tea, damper and other snacks and watch day break over the red heart of Australia.

Or select the evening option and watch the ever-changing colours of an Uluru sunset. Enjoy snacks beer, wine or soft drinks as you see the mighty monolith glowing fiery red, orange or mauve and skies tinged with all shades from lemon and apricot to lavender and indigo.

Sunrise or Sunset Camel Ride - Itinerary




There are two options for your Camel Ride – Sunrise or Sunset. Each experience has its own special magic.

Sunrise Camel Ride
You will be picked up from your Ayers Rock Resort hotel, about 1 hour before sunrise, and driven to Uluru Camel Farm. During the journey you will be provided with a camel riding disclaimer form. This should be completed and provided to the driver on arrival at the Camel Farm.

At the Farm you will learn something about camels and the history of camels in rural Australia. These desert creatures are well suited to the hot, dry climate of Australia's interior. Imported in the 19th century, they were the main means of Outback transport until the development of railways and roads.

You will meet your camel and climb aboard ready for the journey. Each animal will carry two guests. The camel ride lasts approximately 1.5 hours, with stops for photographs and explanations. Enjoy the glorious sunrise over Uluru.

On return to the Camel Farm enjoy billy tea, damper and other snacks and a chance to purchase items from a unique range of camel souvenirs. You will then be driven back to your accommodation.

Sunset Camel Ride
For this tour you will be picked up from your hotel at Ayers Rock resort about 90 minutes hours prior to sunset.

The evening ride is the same as the morning tour except that of course you will be watching sunset rather than dawn. At the end of the tour you will be served snacks, beer, wine or soft drink.

At the end of the trip you will be dropped back at your hotel at Ayers Rock Resort.

The confirmation voucher includes the local activity operator’s contact details and local telephone numbers at the destination. They will happily answer any logistical questions you may have.

Please call the activity operator at least 24 hours prior to start of the tour for reconfirming departure details.
You will be required to sign a camel riding disclaimer form.
Do's & Don'ts
Wear a hat and comfortable shoes. Put on sunscreen and take a bottle of water with you. Don’t forget the camera

How to book

Once you are happy with the price,proceed to checkout to our secure payment page.  Enter your details and click on confirm and pay.
A confirmation voucher for your activity will appear on your screen and a copy will be sent to your mailbox.
You can easily change your dates,number of travelers and tour options during and after the booking process.
If your tour status is On Request we will not charge your card until we have been able to confirm your booking with our supplier.  If your tour status is bookable online, your card will be charged when you click confirm and pay.Please note that you don't have to pay anything at the destination.
What happens after you book
Please print the electronic voucher sent to you and give them to the operator on the day of the activity.
The voucher also includes the operator's complete contact details, and local telephone numbers at the destination. They will happily answer any logistical questions you have.

How to Cancel
Log on to your my isango! account to view the list of your existing bookings.

Your credit card will be refunded with the amount due, according to the cancellation policy.
