Big Island Volcano Adventure Tour - Overview

Experience the fiery personality of Hilo! Travel to Volcanoes National Park and beware of Kilauea the world’s most active volcano Coast along the Chain of Craters Road and view the landscape molded by previous volcanoes. Deep craters, burning lava flows, lush tropical rainforests, mountains and coastal areas dot the scenery. Breathe in the steam of the nearby volcanic steam buffs of Kilauea Iki Caldera. Wander through the large Thurston Lava Tube, a cave that has been formed by prior lava flow. Glimpse into the fiery inner-workings of the earth as you hike next to actual lava flows. Don’t forget to taste the sumptuous Macadamia nuts that make Hawaii famous. Finally take a breath of fresh air in the Akatsuka orchid nursery.

Big Island Volcano Adventure Tour - Itinerary




The tour begins from your hotel. You will be picked up by a minibus or minicoach bus accompanied by a knowledgeable guide and driver.

Then drive through the quaint Hilo town and view the landscape that is dotted with waterfalls. view Banyan Drive

Travel to the Volcanoes National Park and view the most active volcano in the world, Kilauea, the Jagger Museum and enjoy a no-host lunch at Volcano House

Hike near actual lava flows that are allowed by the National Park Service.

Wander through Thurston Lava Tube, a cavern that was formed by hardened lava.

Drive along the expansive Kilauea Iki Crater formed by continuous eruptions over thousands of years.

Then eat the macadamia nuts at a local factory (seasonal) which, among other things, have made Hilo famous.

Finally, conclude your tour with the fragrances of an orchid and Anthurium nursery.

The tour concludes with your being dropped off at your hotel.

Passengers with asthma or other respiratory problems should not take this tour to avoid potential health problems from exposure to fumes. All passengers will be required to sign a release of liability form

We suggest wearing sturdy, covered walking shoes as on some days the tour involves hiking over rough, uneven, lava surfaces

How to book

A confirmation voucher for your activity will appear on your screen and a copy will be sent to your mailbox.
You can easily change your dates,number of travelers and tour options during and after the booking process.
If your tour status is On Request we will not charge your card until we have been able to confirm your booking with our supplier.  If your tour status is bookable online, your card will be charged when you click confirm and pay.Please note that you don't have to pay anything at the destination.
What happens after you book
