The Land Between Tour in Hong Kong - Overview

This is a tour which will change your impression of Hong Kong from “concrete city” to “rural beauty”. “The Land Between” or the New Territories, stands both, as a gentle reminder of Hong Kong‘s past as well as a symbol of its hope and plan for the future.

The New Territories, situated between the Kowloon hills and the boundary with Mainland China, is an extremely diverse rural and suburban area full of striking contrasts. This fusion of traditional customs and modern ideas, of scenic beauty and man-made achievements, makes it a fascinating place to visit. Tai Mo Shan, Hong Kong’s highest mountain peak, provides inspiring panoramic views. Over the mountain lies a lush valley of orchards and vegetable farms.

The Land Between Tour in Hong Kong - Itinerary

There is no hotel pick-up. Please make your way to City Hall " Low Block" in Central from where you will be taken in an air-conditioned coach on a sightseeing tour to The Land Between of the New Territories. You will be accompanied by an English-speaking guide on this tour.

The tour will stop at Yuen Yuen Institute, which demonstrates the significance of contributions from Confucians, Taoists, and Buddhists to the society. Then it’s out into countryside, past bananas plantations and up Tai Mo Shan, the tallest mountain in Hong Kong, for a panoramic view of Hong Kong Island and Tsuen Wan industrial town to the south.

The tour continues to the north through the rural countryside, passing Shek Kong and onwards to a traditional rural market. Browse among colourful stalls piled high with dried fish, herbs and vegetables, fresh fruit and flowers – a pungent combination.

Head for the boundary with China, stopping at Luk Keng. Nearby are a Hakka village and a bird sanctuary where Chinese pond herons and night herons nest.

Journey through the Plover Cove Country Park and on to Sam Mun Tsai fishing village to see how local fishermen breed fish in submerged cages.

Finally, “the land between” will return to the city via the new industrial town of Tai Po, and drive past the Chinese University and on to Sha Tin, once a sleepy village and now the site of an impressive new town.

The tour concludes with a Chinese lunch at a popular restaurant in New Territories.

How to Cancel

	Log on to your my isango! account to view the list of your existing bookings.
	Click on view details for the booking you wish to cancel, then click on cancel selected service.
	Your credit card will be refunded with the amount due, according to the cancellation policy.
