The Barossa Valley and Hahndorf – Tour from Adelaide
-
Overview
On this tour sample some of the best wine produced within Australia. The Barossa Valley produces over half the country’s wine and is Australia's largest wine-growing area. The panoramic beauty of Barossa Valley is complete with the Murray River in the east, one of the largest river systems in the world.
Discover the rich cultural legacy of its specialty foods, festivals, historic architecture and antique galleries. The Barossa Valley was originally settled by German Lutheran farmers in the 1830s and you can see their imprints everywhere: in the classic wine, the traditional bakeries, the churches and the houses. Also included in this tour is a visit to the pretty German-settled town of Hahndorf situated in the picturesque Adelaide Hills. This town still retains its proud German heritage which can be seen in its buildings. For a perfect way to round off the day why not visit the German Cake Shop and sample homemade cakes straight out of the oven!
