The beautiful and rugged Mae Taeng Valley is situated in the North Eastern corner of the Chiang Mai Province. This area is home to large populations of domestic elephants and other wildlife. The Mae Taeng Valley contains lush jungles, local wildlife and encounters with exotic hill tribes.

Originating high in the mountains the Mae Taeng River winds its way through valleys and canyons. The river provides many opportunities for white water rafting, kayaking and bamboo rafting. It is a perfect location to get away and unforgettable experience.

Chiang Mai Elephant Safari, Ox-cart Ride and Bamboo Rafting Tour - Itinerary

This tour is available in two options – coach and private. The private option offers you greater flexibility and you can spend as much or as little time at any of the places that you visit. Unlike the tight and fixed schedules of coach tours, the private option allows you to do the tour at your own pace.

Less than two hours drive out of Chiang Mai is the valley of the Mae Taeng River. It is a convenient and ideal location for various activities including sports and sightseeing.

We profile some of the activities on this tour.

We take you on an elephant safari. The ride is approximately half an hour long. Your elephant will take you along the banks of the Mae Taeng River with its lush forests and inviting waters.

The tour also takes you on a ride in a traditional Thai Ox-cart. The ride can be a bit bumpy but fun. It will give you an idea of how the local population commute in this beautiful forested region and an experience in itself.

Another treat is a lazy trip on a bamboo raft down the Mae Taeng. It's relaxing and nostalgic. Plan on getting wet!

The tour includes a stop for lunch. After the trip you will be returned to your hotel or Airport (if you prefer).

How to Cancel
