Cairns Zoo at Night - Overview

Get up close and personal with the nocturnal wildlife in the tropics at the Cairns Night Zoo. Enjoy a delicious barbecue dinner and then meet the creatures of the night. Learn how owls hunt, touch a possum and pat a koala. On clear nights enjoy star gazing.

In the Aussie bush, there's always a chance you will cross paths with a "Swaggie" (an original Australian bushman). Join the hospitable Swaggie and enjoy billy tea with him by the campfire.

  • Your guide will then give you a torchlit tour of Cairns Zoo

Cairns Zoo at Night - Itinerary




You will be picked up from your hotel in Cairns/Northern Beaches/Port Douglas. Accompanied by an English-speaking guide, you will travel in a coach for a night experience at the Cairns Zoo. Alternatively, you can reach the zoo on your own (please meet the guide at the entrance to the zoo at 7:00pm sharp) and your tour will start from there.

Enjoy a true Australian BBQ dinner of steak, sausages and seafood with fresh garden salads followed by dessert. Relax with a drink from the bar.

After dinner, your guide will give you a torch and accompany you into the darkness to meet the creatures of the night. Learn how owls hunt, touch a possum and pat a koala. On clear nights enjoy star gazing. Follow the guide as he leads you safely through the crocodiles' lair. See the crocodile's eyes glow in your torchlight.

You may meet a 'Swaggie', an Australian bushman. Enjoy some billy tea with him and later, some complimentary cold beer or wine and join in the fun as your guide teaches you Aussie Bush Dances.

The tour ends at the starting point.

Once you are happy with the price,proceed to checkout to our secure payment page.  Enter your details and click on confirm and pay.
A confirmation voucher for your activity will appear on your screen and a copy will be sent to your mailbox.
You can easily change your dates,number of travelers and tour options during and after the booking process.
If your tour status is On Request we will not charge your card until we have been able to confirm your booking with our supplier.  If your tour status is bookable online, your card will be charged when you click confirm and pay.Please note that you don't have to pay anything at the destination.
What happens after you book
Please print the electronic voucher sent to you and give them to the operator on the day of the activity.
The voucher also includes the operator's complete contact details, and local telephone numbers at the destination. They will happily answer any logistical questions you have.
