Visit Barossa Valley, Australia’s premium wine district with a specialist guide and trace the process of wine-making from vine to bottle as you visit the picking, crushing, fermenting and bottling facilities. An interactive tour of the National Wine Centre in Adelaide is also included in this tour.

With 150 years of viticulture tradition, Barossa Valley is considered the ‘cradle of Australian wine’. It is home to some of the oldest Shiraz vineyards in the world, acclaimed Rieslings and iconic wine brands. Shiraz, a variety of grape, produces powerful red wines. The region also produces some fine Cabernet Sauvignon, Semillon and Chardonnay.

Private Barossa Valley Wine Tour & Tasting - from Adelaide - Itinerary




You will be picked up from your hotel in Adelaide and will travel in an air-conditioned vehicle accompanied by a specialist wine guide to the National Wine Centre in Adelaide for an interactive tour. Here you can learn more about the process of wine making and why even similar styles of wine making produce totally different flavours.

You will then be taken to the Jacobs Creek Visitors Centre in Barossa Valley for an introduction to their wines and facility – see the rooms where wine is fermented, aged and bottled.

There will be a break for lunch at a suitable place and time where you will enjoy a 2 course meal with a glass of wine.

Continue then for some private wine tasting. You will first enjoy Peter Lehmann wines. Peter Lehmann is one of Australia’s most respected and innovative wine makers. You will then visit another premium boutique: Turkey Flat, Charles Melton or Langmeil. Turkey Flat is known for its white and red wines, notably Sparkling Chardonnay which is produced from the cooler climate Eden Valley. Charles Melton and Langmeil are both known for their fine classic red wines.

At these private boutiques, you will have the opportunity to purchase wines which are only available at the cellar door. Cellar Reserve wines are of very good quality and are not typically available commercially.

The tour will conclude back at your hotel in Adelaide.
